Lacrima di Morro d'Alba DOC “Villa Angela” from Cantina Velenosi is a red wine from the Marche region that originates in the hills around the municipality of Morro d'Alba, in the province of Ancona, an area historically dedicated to the cultivation of the Lacrima grape variety. The vineyards are raised on medium-textured hilly terrain, well exposed and influenced by the proximity of the Adriatic Sea, conditions that favor optimal grape ripening and high aromatic intensity. The collection is done manually with careful selection of the bunches. After destemming, fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature with maceration on the skins, thus extracting color, aromas and structure while maintaining elegance and varietal freshness. The refinement continues mainly in steel to preserve the aromatic fragrance typical of the grape variety.
Characteristics of this wine from Cantina Velenosi
On organoleptic examination it appears with an intense ruby red color with purplish reflections. The scent is particularly aromatic and recognizable, characterized by intense floral notes of purple and withered pink, accompanied by hints of ripe red fruits such as cherry, blackberry and wild strawberry, with light spicy nuances. On the palate it is soft, fresh and enveloping, with delicate tannins and a pleasant harmony between fruity component and acidity. The finish is elegant, persistent and strongly aromatic, typical of the Lacrima variety.
Recommended pairings with this red wine from the Marche region
This wine pairs very well with typical cured meats from the Marche region, first courses with meat sauces, roast meats, and spicy preparations from Mediterranean cuisine. The pairing with medium-aged cheeses and mushroom-based dishes is also interesting. The ideal serving temperature is between 16 and 18 °C, so as to enhance its rich aromatic heritage and pleasant softness of taste.
