This wine from Campania was created as a tribute to the traditional white wines of Irpinia, which were aged in wood and then used for tasting by enthusiasts: hence the name More Maiorum, meaning respect for the customs of the ancestors. The grapes used are a blend of Fiano and Greco, harvested manually at the end of October. The two parts are then vinified and aged separately: vinification takes place in white with temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation and ageing in oak for a minimum of 18 months with a further 42 months in the bottle.
Characteristics of Fiano di Avellino DOCG Mastroberardino
It has a very intense straw yellow colour and an aromatic bouquet reminiscent of minerality, candied fruit and vanilla. On the palate, it impresses with its remarkable persistence of toasted dried fruit.
