Defined by the Romans as ‘Aminea Gemina’ due to the peculiar shape of its bunches, which are divided into two twin parts, Greco stands out as one of the few white grapes with a remarkable propensity for ageing. This white wine from Campania, produced by Cantina Mastroberardino, is made exclusively from Greco di Tufo grapes grown on the Tufo and Petruro Irpino estates: the vineyards are south-east facing at an altitude of 450 metres above sea level and on predominantly clayey and calcareous soils. The grapes are harvested by hand in the second ten days of October and undergo classic white vinification in steel at a controlled temperature of 16-18°C. The final stage of ageing takes place in the bottle for several months.
