This Tuscan red wine from La Braccesca winery comes from 100% Sangiovese grapes from a careful selection from the vineyards of Maggiarino. La Braccesca covers an area of 508 hectares and is located a few km away from Montepulciano: since 1990 it is owned by the Marchesi Antinori. The grapes used for its production are harvested towards the end of September; after a maceration in steel for about 20 days, the wine is transferred to tonneaux where the malolactic fermentation takes place and where the refinement phase begins, which will last for 12 months. After bottling, the wine rests in the bottle for 2 years before being marketed.
Characteristics of this Tuscan wine
The organoleptic exam shows a deep ruby red color and a very intense olfactory bouquet that evokes plums, berries and cherries. The olfactory notes of wood, anise and spices are also well defined. On the palate it strikes for its long persistence and a delicate tannic texture.
