This privileged wine from the Antinori winery respects the Tuscany tradition. The denomination is the DOC Vin Santo della Valdichiana certification. It is produced by the Trebbiano toscano and Malvasia grapes. The grape harvest takes place at the half of September up to the beginning of October. The selection of the grapes takes place in the withering plateau which maintain the integrity of the bunch. This process lasts around five months and the grapes softly pressed are put in oak barrels for the alcoholic fermentation. This process stops when the must achieved the 17 alcoholic degrees and it has natural sugars. The fermentation takes place with Valdichiana yeasts and selected ones. After an aging period of 4 years the wine was bottled.
Characteristics of the Vin Santo "Santa Cristina" DOC
It has a shiny gold color. It has candied fruits, almonds, raisin, cinnamon and vanilla aromas. The taste is sweet, with a good balance with acid hints. It has an almond aftertaste.

This wine from Tuscany is perfect with bakery and it is also perfect with panforte, or with a panettone filled with candied fruits and a greedy heart of crème patissière. It must be served at 14°C and it has a proof of 17%.
