This Ramato Pinot Grigio from Cantina Vigne di Zamò is produced with 100% Pinot Grigio grapes, grown in the Company's vineyards in Rosazzo, Udine. After the harvest at the end of August, the grapes are de-stemmed and left to cold macerate for one night. Afterwards, pressing and alcoholic fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. After 8 months of aging on the lees, the wine is bottled and marketed.
Pinot Grigio Ramato Doc’s features
On the organoleptic examination, this Pinot Grigio Ramato del Friuli shows a bright and brilliant colour. The nose is pervaded by floral and fruity notes, which are reminiscent of exotic fruit in particular; then follow notes of yeast and honey. The taste is fresh and enveloping at the same time, slightly tannic, full-bodied and of good length.
Suggested food pairings while tasting this white wine
Perfect for the whole meal, especially with dishes based on prawns, preferably steamed in order to combine their sweet taste with the fatness of the wine. Try it with razor clams, scallops, stewed cuttlefish and fish-based first courses in general. This wine should be served at a temperature of 10°C in a large glass.
