"Cavicchioli 1928": a precise choice, to include in the company logo the date on which everything began, almost as if to emphasize that it is more than eighty years that the Cavicchioli family is dedicated to the art of producing wine. More than eighty years during which the key points have always remained the same, always those of the origins: respect for nature and love for their work. In San Prospero, a small village in the province of Modena, everything began in the laboratory-cellar behind the house, where Umberto Cavicchioli, officially on April 6, 1928, gave the go-ahead to the production of his Lambrusco di Sorbara. Since then many things have changed, Umberto took over first his sons Franco, Romano and Piergiorgio, then his grandchildren Sandro and Claudio, and the business has grown exponentially: the hectares of vineyards that the winery has at the moment are about ninety, for an annual production that reaches an average of ten million bottles. In the territory of Sorbara, and in the fertile area between the rivers Secchia and Panaro, the Lambrusco vines have met an ideal territory, and are able to give grapes among the most excellent and expressive of the whole area of Modena. Clusters that in the winery are transformed into exceptional wines, starting from the Lambrusco di Sorbara "Vigna del Cristo", a label that punctually, season after season, is awarded with important awards by the critics of the sector. Then follow all the other wines, such as Lambrusco Grasparossa, Lambrusco Salamino and Pignoletto: sincere wines, honest and honest wines, friendly wines, convivial and welcoming just like the land from which they come, where to excel on all the names there is that of the winery Cavicchioli, a real milestone with regard to the vinification of Lambrusco in the lands of Modena.
