VIETTI
4 generations that started with Carlo Vietti, the founder of the winery. At the end of the XIX century he bought the property in Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of Langhe. At the beginning of 900, his son Mario started to sell the Barolo that they produced, focusing the company exclusively on wine and on its related activities. In the 60s, the daughter of Mario, Lucia, and her husband, the oenologist Alfredo Currado, continued the job. They concentrated on quality and exportation and they made the company become one of the best of Langhe. Alfredo was the first who vinified the single vineyards separately in a historical period like the 60s, when Barolo wasn’t conceived as single "cru", but as the result of the wine making of all the vineyards together. The other great vision of this claver oenologist consisted in giving value to Arneis variety, forgotten for a long time by the producers of the area. The winery began its single variety wine making, followed then by other producers. This was the origin of the success of this white variety. In 1970 Luciana e Alfredo decided, with the help of some artists, to change the aspect of their labels. In 2000, their parents abandoned the activity and left the property to Mario Cordero and Luca Currado. They followed the tradition with a new mentality, more opened and innovating, searching for quality and know-how. 35 hectares that produce Dolcetto and Barbera “Tre Vigne”, Arneis and Moscato d’Asti “Cascinetta”, the crü “Rocche”, “Brunate”, “Lazzarito”, “Ravera” and “Riserva Villero” for Barolo, Barbaresco “Masseria”, Barbera d’ Alba “Vigna Vecchia” and, since 1996, Barbera d’ Asti “La Crena”
