SAN FELO

Founded in 2001 by the Tuscan Vanni family and located in the heart of Maremma, near Monte Amiata, San Felo boasts a property of over 28 hectares and a 1000 sqm cellar. The land is cultivated according to ancient farming traditions, combined with the desire to actively contribute to the promotion of the land of Maremma; the vines are, mainly, the classic ones of the place and then add some experimental crops: in fact they are cultivated, as for red berried varieties, Sangiovese, but also Cabernet Sauvignon, Ciliegiolo, Merlot, Alicante and Syrah, while we opt for Vermentino and Viognier for white berried grapes. The company, decidedly oriented to the highest quality of resources, boasts a structure aimed at full autonomy for each stage of processing and, for this purpose, carries on a closed chain, thanks to which it is possible to pass from the cultivation of the vineyard, the harvest of the grapes, passing through for their processing and processing. Nothing is excluded: bottling, packaging and shipping are also handled by the owners. To direct the demanding work is Federico, who begins to become passionate just seventeen years old, and today he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the San Felo; he is a talented young man, attentive to innovation without ever betraying the traditional values of their land. The attachment of the San Felo winery and its owners to their origins is also witnessed by the particular attention paid to the choice of the names of the bottles; the "Balla la Vecchia", for example, owes its origin to the typical dialectal expression used in remote times by the inhabitants of the place to define the typical flicker of the afternoon air in the full summer heat, while it owes its name to the straw left on the field after the typical harvest of the wheat the bottle "Le Stoppie". Wisdom, experience, respect for tradition and the innovative enthusiasm of young entrepreneurs allow the San Felo winery to obtain excellent quality results and a wine capable of exalting the eno-cultural heritage handed down for generations.
