RUSSIZ SUPERIORE
From some historical documents it seems that the origins of the Russiz Superiore winery date back to 1273, the year in which the Patriarch of Venice took possession of these lands. However, it was in 1967 that the history of the modern winery began, belonging to the Felluga family and now run by Roberto, a great wine expert and excellent entrepreneurial manager. We are in Collio Gorizia, exactly in Capriva del Friuli: it is here that, grouped in a single body around the winery, meet the fifty hectares of vineyards that answer to the name of Russiz Superiore, company that can boast some of the most beautiful rows of the entire denomination of the Collio, conducted according to conventional agriculture, but adopting methods with low environmental impact. Combining innovation and tradition as few other companies are able to do, from the Russiz Superiore winery come out labels with impeccable and well recognizable style. Among whites, wines can be drunk relatively young, but they can also be aged for several years in bottle, in order to find mineral complexity and very interesting ripe fruity tones. The reds, on the other hand, both indigenous and international, are of great structure and lend themselves to a long aging. Wines, the ones produced by Russiz Superiore winery, which together constitute a solid and coherent range, elegant and valuable, undisputed reference point of the whole excellence of Collio.
