Il Pollenza
Winery il Pollenza is located in Tolentino nelle Marche. The passion for the land, the constant dedication and the search for the best cultivation techniques, as well as the high quality standards for the processing of wine, have contributed to give life to the winery. Geographically, the estate rises in the splendid panorama of the hills of Macerata that Count Brachetti - Peretti bought more than twenty years ago, from the princes Antici Mattei, with a beautiful building of the '500 designed by Sangallo. It is spread over about 200 hectares of which at least 50 are destined to vineyards.On the estate, the vineyards, located about 25 km from the sea and 35 km from the Sibillini mountains. They are arranged at varying heights within a range ranging from 110 to 150 meters above sea level. The cultivation is recognizable by notes and noble varieties of vines of international character. Among them we find Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot, Syrah Gewϋrstraminer, Sauvignon Blanc. Alongside the international ones are the great local excellences such as Trebbiano and Sangiovese. The first international vines date back to 1996 planting, while a previous cultivation of native vines dates back more than 40 years. The harvest is mostly done by hand using wooden boxes. A small percentage of harvesting takes place through the use of state-of-the-art machinery. The harvest takes place between the end of August and the first half of September. The soil is from medium deep to deep, of medium texture tending to clay and partly gravelly. The form of breeding is controspalliera, the pruning is cordon rammed for reds and guyot for whites.
