Cantina Canevel was founded in 1979 from the meeting of two professionals who merge into a single authentic passion. From the beginning of the entrepreneurial adventure, when Mario Caramel and the oenologist Roberto De Lucchi founded the winery in a small workshop under the Church of Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene, the project was clear: the production of an excellent sparkling wine capable of enhancing the qualities of Glera grapes. "Canevel", in dialect, means "small cellar": this would become the name of the sparkling wines produced. The new company had to become the best corner where to keep secrets and traditions. Since then, Prosecco has remained a project, and by no means a coincidence. Canevel Spumanti is the result of a passion cultivated over the time: the culture of wine, technical ability and the continuous search for quality are the elements of Canevel's history. The vineyards arise in the areas of Follo, Santo Stefano and Guia: these territories represent the most suitable terroir of the guaranteed denomination. The climate benefits from an average annual temperature one degree higher than the average, the latter likely consequence of the climatic peculiarities of the area. The personality of this terroir can be found directly in the Canevel Prosecco: they stand out for their richness and roundness; we can affirm that climate and soil, in the "small cellar" become synonyms of an unmistakable style. Today Canevel winery can boast farms that extend for 26 hectares of selected land on the prestigious territory of Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG. The company is one of the wineries in the Venetian regions, characterized by a unique history and a very important tradition: the values of tradition and the territory are recognized all over the world, thanks to the experience of Masi Agricola. From 2016, the Canevel company became part of the Masi Group, world leader in the production of Amarone and other excellent wine products, characteristic of the Venetian area. Since its foundation and its origins, Cantina Canevel can recognize its success, based mainly on the far-sighted vision that has seen the entire production chain wisely integrated in a harmonious way: it develops from a scrupulous selection of grapes and careful care of the vineyard; the company also pays the utmost attention to the work in the cellar and to the vinification and sparkling winemaking phases. With these values and with the attention always paid to the quality of its products, Cantina Canevel has written important chapters in the history of viticulture in the Valdobbiadene area, a place characterized by a unique and inimitable charm.
