This wine represents the characteristics of the Salento territory. It has the IGP certification. This wine is made by 100% Primitivo grapes. The density is 5000 trees per hectare and the cultivation is located in San Marzano, in the Salento, in Puglia. The soils are located at 100 meters above the sea level. There are few rains and the soil is clay, not so deep with pebbly. The grape harvest takes place in the first week of September and it follows the thermo controlled maceration for 10 days followed by the alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts. The refinement takes place in steel. This Primitivo of the San Marzano winery can be aged for 5 years.
Characteristics of the red wine Primitivo
It has an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. The smell is wide and complex with prune and cherry aromas together with spices of rosemary and vanilla hints. The taste is bodied, soft and harmonic, pleasant and easy to drink.
