It is made with 100% Nebbiolo grapes. The cultivation areas are Arnad and Issogne in the core of the Aosta valley. The vineyards are around 30 years old and the soils are alluvial and rich of loam. The exposition is South-east/North-west and they are located at 350 meters above the sea level. The cultivation methods are the trellised and the Guyot with a density of 7500 trees per hectare with a profit of 55 quintals. The grape harvest takjes place between October and November and it follows 20 days in which the must is kept in stainless steel tanks. It follows 12 months in 25 hectoliters oak barrels. The biotype Nebbiolo is traditional for the Aosta Valley. The result is a character and refined wine expression of the Terroir of the mountain. Sommet means top with the look up to the mountains.
Characteristics of the NEBBIOLO “SOMMET” Valle d’Aosta DOP
It has a bright ruby red color. The smell is fruity of wood, ripen blackberry, cherry and violet with a light balsamic hint. The taste is juicy, precise and sapid with the elegance of the mountain.
