Wine list | Lagrein |
This wine is the result of the skilful vinification of 100% pure Lagrein grapes from old pergola systems. The origin is the classic Alto Adige DOC, in Gries near Bolzano. The soil is alluvial and sandy with a high percentage of porphyry and it has a perfect southern exposure. Vinification involves the first fermentation on the skins at 28-30°C in steel. Then the careful reassembly of peels and juice for optimal color extraction. The wine ferments for 1/3 in barriques and 2/3 in 35 hl wooden vats for about 12 months. After careful bottling, 12 months of bottle aging follow.
