Barbaresco DOCG is one of the best red wines from Piedmont. Located in Monforte d’Alba region, vineyards are known as Nebbiolo da Barbaresco. Barbaresco DOCG is made from grapes gathered in October. Bunches are placed in cellar, in red wooden cases. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vassels at a temperature of 27-30°C, then wine is moved in barriques of 50 hectolitre.
Characteristics of this Barbaresco wine
Barbaresco DOCG presents a red ruby colour with shades that make it full and intense. On the nose this is a fruity wine: raspberry, vanilla and cherry stand up among a variety of notes. It’s a well-structured and robust wine. In spite of its strength, it proves to be very smooth and easy to drink. Bottle aging is excellent.
Recommended pairings while tasting this famous wine from Piedmont
