From the vinification in purity of the vine of Merlot. Although not an autochthonous grape variety, Merlot has been part of the Friulian wine tradition for a long time, having been imported into Friuli in 1880. The origin is that of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the municipalities of Farra d'Isonzo, San Floriano and Cormòns, in the Collio DOC area, with altitude of 80, 250 meters and 80 meters above sea level respectively. The vinification and fermentation foresee that the grapes separated from the stalks are placed to macerate in large steel vats for a variable period depending on the year. During this delicate phase of fulling operations allow to extract the noble components precursors of the taste and aroma of the wine Finally the aging of the wine that is left to age about twelve months in large and small oak barrels and for about six months in bottle.
Characteristics of red wine
