Cannonau di Sardegna "Mamaioa" DOC BIO is the first organic wine produced by Azienda Contini. Mamaioa in the Sardinian language means "ladybug", an animal that is somewhat the symbol of organic farming in unspoiled nature. Thanks to the use of Cannonau certified organic grapes, grown on clayey-calcareous soils in northern Sardinia, which benefit from a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot and ventilated summers, This Sardinian red wine symbolizes a real challenge for the Contini family: the desire to satisfy consumers who are particularly attentive to protecting the environment and therefore the production of wines with a low level of sulphites. This is how since 2015 the Company has obtained the Organic Certification. The harvest takes place during the middle of September, followed by crushing and fermentation with maceration of the skins for 7 days. The aging takes place in vitrified cement tanks and steel tanks where the aging takes place.
