“Vigna del Fiore” is the only vineyard owned by Barbi of 5,7 hectares. Its soil is full of stones and the family cultivates here since 1500. These plants are located in the southern part of Montalcino and they are also between the most ancient of the zone. The exposition and the composition of the lands give to this Brunello unique features. The perfume and the taste of this wine express its elegance. “Brunello Vigna del Fiore” has been produced since 1981: it can be drunk with satisfaction after the long aging, but even in the firs years. It is made with 100% Sangiovese grapes. During the wine-making, the soft pressed grapes are cooled at 16°C in a space without CO2. The classic alcoholic fermentation follows with its 16/17 days at a controlled temperature of 27 max 28°C. After the malolactic fermentation the product is introduced in small containers (max 15 hl) and then poured in bigger ones (30 hl). Brunello “Vigna del Fiore” rests in wooden barrels for at least two years and ages in the bottle for minimum 4 months.

Recommended food pairings while tasting this red wine produced by Barbi, Tuscany
Brunello DOCG Vigna del Fiore is great with roasted, grilled meat. Excellent with particular, high-quality dishes but also extraordinary to be drunk alone, as a meditation wine. Its aging can last 50 years. We suggest to keep the bottles in the dark and horizontally, at a temperature between 12-14°C. It has to be served at room temperature in a wide wine glass that allows oxygenation.
