La Fornace
Originally born as a furnace, hence the name, the Tuscan winery La Fornace is a small family owned company purchased in 1964 by Giuseppe Giannetti: originally the surface covered only 2 hectares, half a hectare was the size of the first vineyard. In the 1970s, adjacent land were purchased, but above all the area dedicated to the vineyards increased, as well as the number of bottles produced. Currently the company is in the hands of his nephew Fabio and covers a total area of 7 hectares: the production is dedicated solely to Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Riserva di Brunello DOCG, the last one in the best vintages only; the vineyards are located at an altitude of 400 m usl and enjoy a north-east exposure.
