Cà Marcanda
Ca' Marcanda Winery was founded in 1996 by Angelo Gaja after a difficult negotiation for the purchase of the land, with the aim of investing in the terroir of the coast of Bolgheri and producing great wines also outside Piedmont where Angelo Gaja is already author of wines capable of revolutionizing the concept of territorial marketing with high-quality products of Piedmontese enology. With the construction of the new Gaja Winery he wanted to insert his project in a framework of harmony with nature, using only materials found during the excavations. The construction of the new Ca' Marcanda winery was entirely directed by the architect Giovanni Bo, historical collaborator of Angelo Gaja, who was able to assign a deeply distinctive identity to the new Tuscan project. Today the estate has 60 hectares of vineyards divided between Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah and is considered one of the most important estates in Bolgheri thanks to the production of labels able to always express themselves on high taste-olfactory profiles.
