CASTELLO BONOMI
The name Franciacorta has its roots in the Middle Ages, when these lands were entrusted to small communities of Benedictine monks, exempt (frankly) from taxes (curtes), to be reclaimed and cultivated. Here the first wine was born four hundred years earlier than in Champagne. This moraine area bordered by Monte Orfano, Monte Alto and the hills of Lake Iseo, knows its first great development in wine production in the second half of the 19th century, on the slopes of Monte Orfano, jewel in a wonderful casket, Castello Bonomi, the only Liberty-style Chateau of Franciacorta, is precious.
