CASISANO

Podere Casisano is a 53 hectares estate located south-east of Montalcino strongly wanted by Tommasi Family for the realization of a great project: a wine that went beyond the usual borders of Veneto, a land that has always been linked to the name of the Tommasi Family. Located at 480 meters above sea level, the Casisano farm is located in front of Sant'Angelo in Colle and the Abbey of Sant'Antimo, overlooking Monte Amiata: here the soils are rich in marl, sandstone rocks and tuff and enjoy a breezy and dry climate, whose daytime excursions ensure that the clusters grow optimally. The exclusivity of the wines produced is evident from the fact that nine of the twenty-two hectares planted with Sangiovese Grosso are enrolled in the Brunello di Montalcino register; the vineyards, divided into distinct parcels, are distinguished by appearance and different composition of the soil. The harvest is based on a careful choice of the best bunches and for each parcel we proceed with the separate vinification, with subsequent fermentation using indigenous yeasts in stainless steel and wood; the refinement instead takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels.
