Jorio by Umani Ronchi is a red wine, produced with 100% Montepulciano grapes. The vineyards are located in different districts of Abruzzo. The attention dedicated to the pruning aims to let the plants produce more and with higher quality. These are basic condition for the growth of Montepulciano. The harvest is planned between the end of September and the first decade of October. The wine making starts with soft pressing and elimination of stalks, followed by 10-12 days maceration at 26-28°C in steel tanks. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months, both in big barrels (50-80 hl) and barriques of 3rd and 4th passage. After the assembly, the wine matures for some months in the bottle before the selling.
