The Secco-Bertani “Vintage Edition” is a tribute to the memory to evoke the sensations, the thinking and the emotions of the past which can enriches the present. The project consists in the reproduction of the Secco Bertani wine according to the ancient recipe and the ancient bottle of the 30’s. It is made by 80% of Corvina, Sangiovese Grosso 10%, Syrah 5% and Cabernet Sauvignon 5% grapes. The cultivation method is the trellised with the guyot method with a density of 5000 trees per hectare. It takes place a long cold maceration on peels after a long fermentation made by the local yeasts of the Bertani winery. The wine is racked off when lightly sweet and then it must ferment in wood. The aging takes place in chestnut and cherry tree woods in Verona barrels from 750 to 5000 lt each.
Characteristics of the Secco Vintage Verona
It has an intense ruby red color. The smell is rich with black currant, black berry and cacao aromas together with black pepper, cloves and nutmeg. The taste is pleasant with red fruits, cherry and black tea aromas with the complexity of an ancient vine for a young and vibrating wine.
