The excellent tradition from Trento together with the synergy between the territory and the culture have permitted the Santa Margherita winery to produce this excellent Müller Thurgau DOC. The grapes are picked intact when perfectly ripen and they are immediately white vinified with the reduction method. After a soft pressing of the must, this one has to ferment in stainless steel tanks for 8-10 days at 16-18°C. It follows the aging on yeasts until January when the wine is prepared to be bottled. This wine is made with 100% Müller Thurgau grapes coming from the Cembra valley in Trentino. The grapes are cultivated between the 150 and 500 meters above the sea level on morainic origins soil, medium-bodied and with porphyry rocks located in the Cembra Valley. For the cultivation is used the Trento trellised method and the Guyot. The vines density is between the 3000 and 4000 trees per hectare.
Characteristics of the Müller Thurgau wine
It has several bright green touches and reflections typical of these grapes. The aroma as some country flower hints together with citrons, aromatic herbs and the territory itself. The taste is dry, sapid with a vibrating refreshing aroma which prolong the aromatic hints of the nose.
