The Il Pumo line of the San Marzano winery represents the immediateness and the balance of the Salento. The chardonnay is a white fruity wine rich of citrons and yellow flowers aromas. This wine is honored by the IGP certification and the cultivation method is the Guyot with a density of 4500 trees per hectare. The cultivation area is in the San Marzano hamlet, in the Salento in Puglia. It is located at 100 meters above the sea level with strong thermal excursion and medium deep soils. The grape harvest takes place in the second half of August and it follows the destemming of the grapes and the maceration for some hours. There is a soft pressing and a cold static decantation. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at 12°C. Finally, also the aging period takes place in steel and it follows the bottling.

It has a straw yellow color with floral aromas with jasmine, wild rose, pineapple and bananas fragrances. The taste is elegant, fresh, delicate and mineral.
