Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG is a great Italian red wine. It’s made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. Bunches are harvested, selected and fermented in stainless steel vassels at a controlled temperature for 20-25 days. Brunello di Montalcino DOCG maturation takes place in small oak barrels for 48 months, than the wine is bottled. During the bottling time, refinement process goes on for 16 months in cellar. This wine is released on the market only 5 years after vintage and it can age for more than 30 years, if it’s properly conserved.
Characteristics of this famous wine from Tuscany
It presents a ruby, almost garnet red colour. On the nose it releases a very elegant and intense bouquet. Robust and persistent wine, with a dry and warm taste.
Recommended pairings while tasting this Brunello di Montalcino wine
It should be served in a wide crystal glass at a temperature of 18-20°C. We suggest to uncork the bottle 3 hours before serving, in order to enhance its qualities. It can be paired with main courses, game meat, grilled or stewed red meat and aged chees.
