Brunello di Montalcino DOCG “Molinari Carlo” is a great Italian red wine from Tuscany region. It’s made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. Bunches are harvested, selected and fermented in stainless steel vessels at a controlled temperature for 20-25 days. Brunello di Montalcino DOCG maturation takes place in small oak barrels for 36 months, than the wine is bottled. After bottling, refinement process goes on for 7-8 months in cellar. This wine is released on the market only 5 years after vintage and it can age for more than 30 years, if it’s properly conserved.
Characteristics of Brunello di Montalcino wine
It presents a ruby, almost garnet red colour. On the nose it releases a very elegant and intense bouquet. Robust and persistent wine, with a dry and warm taste.
Recommended pairings while tasting this red wine from Carlo Molinari winery
It should be served in a wide crystal glass at a temperature of 18-20°C. We suggest to uncork the bottle 3 hours before serving, in order to enhance its qualities. It can be paired with game meat, roast beef and aged cheeses.
