SAN MICHELE APPIANO
Founded in 1907 thanks to a few winegrowers who decided to join forces to improve the quality of their labels, the cooperative winery of San Michele Appiano is now a reality that has about three hundred and fifty members, for an annual production that exceeds two million bottles. A real giant, an absolute reference for the whole productive world not only South Tyrolean, which never betrays expectations thanks to a range of unique reliability. From Gewürztraminer to Müller Thurgau, from Sauvignon to Riesling, from Pinot Blanc to Lagrein, each bottle represents a perfect synthesis of the variety that sees it being born. Fresh and vibrant wines, characterized by a clear territorial appeal and a surprising average quality. At present, the San Michele Appiano winery, with a vineyard area close to 400 hectares, is the largest in the province of Bolzano, and today more than ever it is identified with its historic "kellermeister", the wine maker Hans Terzer, active in San Michele Appiano since 1977 and awarded by Gambero Rosso as one of the ten best winemakers in the world. In the management of the vineyards, a team of highly competent and professional technicians and agronomists constantly accompanies each bestower member, offering valuable advice on how to conduct the rows. Accurate and strategic choices allow us to harvest superb quality fruits. Clusters that are processed in the cellar exalting every minimum organoleptic nuance: the vinification makes use of the most innovative wine making techniques, applied in full respect of traditions, while both stainless steel tanks and oak barrels are used for aging. From the top line, the "Sanct Valentin", you get to the line "Classic" passing through the line "Selection": all labels registered "San Michele Appiano" are daughters of a constant search for quality without compromise, and are the fruit of passion, experience, courage and sensitivity, values that for over a century have been the basis of what is one of the most important wineries of the entire wine scene of South Tyrol and Italy.
