The family of the founder of Montalbera, Enrico Riccardo Morando, has been protagonist of the oenological world of Piedmont since six generations, with 175 hectares spread between Langa and Monferrato.Their work is characterized by respect and valorisation of the territory, that is resumed in a deep connection between environment, vineyard, weather and man. For these reason, Ruché variety found in this winery its best expression in “Ruché di Castagnole Monferrato L’Accento”. This wine gained 99/100 in the guide Luca Maroni. It is a didactic product to understand the maximum expression of this variety characterized by dried violet, red fruits and spices. The company believes in this variety so much, that they decided to start some scientific researches to trace the gene map of the variety, comparing it to other ones. The result is incredible and revolutionary. They discovered that another variety is really similar to Ruchè: the so-called “noble enfant terrible”, Pinot Noir. This is really important to give to this special variety, always considered less important, its real value.Accuracy, fantasy and poetry. These values pushed Enrico Riccardo Morando to enhance the typical varieties of Langhe and Monferrato, like Ruché, Barbera and Moscato, that represent the true soul of the region.
