BEEFEATER

The renowned English Beefeater distillery produces one of the most famous and sold gins in the world: the original recipe is still scrupulously respected today, through the use of 8 botanicals that are immersed for 24 hours in barley and corn distillate: juniper berries, bitter orange peel, lemon peel, angelica root and seeds, coriander, lily root, licorice and almond oil. The distillery was founded by James Burrough, a pharmacist who in 1863 bought the "Tylor & Son" of Cale Street in Chelsea: here Burrough put into practice all his knowledge in order to add a new brand in the catalog, namely the Beefeater London Dry Gin; thanks to the huge success Beefeater immediately became the company's flagship product. When the distillery passed to Burrogh's son, a new building was built in the Lambeth district, n the central area of London, which was equipped with new stills: the production was therefore moved to the new location and exports to the USA also began. In the following years, more and more portions of the neighboring areas were purchased and the company reached its current size of about 9000 square meters. Tradition and the link with the city of London are an integral part of the brand as can be seen from the name: "Beefeater" is in fact the nickname that Londoners give to the guardians of the Tower of London the Yeomen Warders, concrete proof of the indissoluble link between the history of this distillery and the territory on which it is rooted.
