Il Marroneto
Il Marroneto Winery was founded in 1974 when the father of the current owner Alessandro Mori planted the first vineyards in an area that extends near the walls of Montalcino. 3000 meters of vineyard are initially planted with an arrangement that allows the plants to have an optimal rooting: it is initially such a small reality that Il Marroneto comes to life in the rooms of a small chestnut drying room, hence the name. With the passage of time the company therefore begins to take shape, above all thanks to the dedication with which Alessandro follows the genesis of his wine from harvest to bottling: in the vineyards takes place the cultivation of Sangiovese only, in purity, and for the safeguard of the plants no particular products such as herbicides are used; this allows to obtain a noteworthy wine, which once the 4 years in wood have elapsed will become Brunello. The company is now considered one of the ten historic companies of Montacino, a tangible sign of the indissoluble link between passion, tradition and respect for the territory.
