FONTODI
All Fontodi wines are produced from grapes from the vineyards owned by the company, the grapes are always harvested by hand, the grapes chosen with care and then vinified in order to enhance the character of the vines and the territory. The estate covers a total of 130 hectares, including over eighty vineyards, located in the territory of Panzano, a fraction of the town of Greve in Chianti. The Fontodi winery has been owned by the Manetti family since 1968, historically active in the production of terracotta, and today also engaged in the production of high quality wines. Located in what is called the "Conca d'oro", corresponding to the area of Panzano overlooking the Val di Pesa. The company boasts organic certification, and conducts its rows in full respect of nature and eco-sustainability, without using either pesticides or chemicals of any kind. It is from this deep respect for the environment that pure wines are born, a true expression of the varietal and the territory from which they come. At the technological level, it is possible to rely on modern vinification and aging rooms, built on decreasing levels in order to exploit the force of gravity, the maximum integrity of the grapes is kept intact, in order to enhance the character and elegance of each wine.So that in the heart of Chianti Classico are born wines of the highest level, that is labels of great material and longevity, capable, like few others, of reproducing to the glass the most authentic traits peculiar to Sangiovese cultivated in this corner of Tuscany.
