Arnaldo Caprai
In 1971 Arnaldo Caprai successful textile entrepreneur, buys forty-five hectares in Montefalco to realize the dream of running a farm for wine production. Progressively, with the conviction of enhancing the enormous potential of the native Sagrantino grape variety, the best adjacent soils are annexed to the estate. Since 1988 the management of the company passes into the hands of Marco Caprai, the son of Arnaldo, that with great passion gives the decisive impulse for the affirmation of the wines of the estate through a managerial type conduction and initiating the collaboration with professionals in the sector and with Research Institutes, both in the agronomic and oenological field. Today’s goal is that of thirty years ago: constant and meticulous work in favor of quality, research and experimentation of new agronomic and oenological techniques, the dissemination of the culture and tradition of the territory of which the company is interpreter. Marco Caprai believed in the great richness of this tradition and has recovered it in a modern key, adopting the most innovative methods of production and business management. Thanks to continuous research and experimentation we work to offer the public powerful, elegant wines with great personality and typicality. The color, aroma and taste of our Sagrantino will make you know the strong character and love of the men who cultivate it, the sweetness of the hills where it grows and the richness and complexity of the great heritage of culture and tradition preserved in Montefalco over the centuries.
