Admiral Rodney

Located in the Caribbean, in the paradisiacal valley of Roseau, Saint Lucia was born in 1972 from the merger of two historic family-run distilleries, Geest and Barnard, dedicated to the production of some of the best blends of Rum in the world, thanks to the most important production traditions skilfully combined with the experimentation of new techniques. In 1992 the Barnards took over the shares of the Geests and entered into partnership with Angostura Ltd. of Trinidad: today continuity is guaranteed with the presence of Laurie Barnard in the Group as Managing Director, the third generation of master distillers. The genesis of the distillates begins with the long fermentation of the molasses that takes place in tanks using indigenous yeasts; this is followed by distillation using column stills but also traditional and discontinuous stills. The ageing phase, on the other hand, requires ageing in American oak ex Bourbon Whisky, Sherry or Cognac. This scrupulous procedure ensures that the product acquires a remarkable complexity of aromas, which makes Saint Lucia Distillers famous worldwide.
