The Gewürztraminer Kolbenhof from Termeno is the only aromatic grape variety of Italy. This Gewürztraminer is a selection of a vineyard of our estate Kolbenhof in Tramin - Tramin, one of the great cru of the South Tyrolean Gewürztraminer, thanks to the particular microclimate, the ideal location and the age of the vineyards. The vine bears the name of its country of origin, and right here at the Kolbenhof, it finds the ideal growing conditions to develop the best sides of its character. Only the denomination "Vigna", for this wine guarantees in South Tyrol the origin of a wine from a specific vineyard that rises on soils with mainly clay and calcareous gravel. The vinification requires the bunches to be lightly pressed and the must left a few hours in contact with the skin to enhance its varietal characteristics. After a gentle pressing and sedimentation of the must ferments at a controlled temperature. The Kolbenhof Gewürztraminer ripens for a further 8 months on the fine lees after fermentation. The fine yeasts are gently moved weekly following the Bâtonnage technique.
Characteristics of Gewürztraminer wine "Kolbenhof"
The organoleptic analysis of this wine shows a deep and luminous straw-yellow color. The perfume is the main component, of great concentration of fruit, aromas, especially peaches and apricots, are intertwined with exotic scents of lychees, mango and passion fruit. The taste on the palate is expressed with flavors that are enhanced, without losing in finesse and acidity. This prevents this wine from being too full-bodied, despite the evident concentration. A Gewürztraminer that convinces by elegance, typicality and texture.
