“Barbera d’Alba Tre Vigne” has the denomination DOC Piemonte. It is produced with 100% Barbera grapes that come prom vineyards located in Castiglione Falletto, Monforte d’Alba, La Morra and other villages in “Langhe”. The age of the vines swings between 25 and 40 years old. The medium density is around 4500 stumps per hectare, cultivated with guyot training method. The soils here are characterized by clay and limestone. The alcoholic fermentation in steel lasts two weeks, with frequent “déléstages” and daily operation of mixing in order to maintain the must in contact with the peels. The malolactic fermentation is managed in steel too, while, during the aging, the wine is poured in wooden barrels, barriques and steel, for about one year.
Features of “Barbera d’Alba Tre Vigne” produced by Vietti
The organoleptic aspect of this wine reveals a ruby red colour. Its scent recalls mature cherries, vanilla and violet, elements that make it more delicate if compared to “Barbera d’Asti Tre Vigne“. The taste is rich of sourness and sweet tannins, with a balanced presence of wood sensations, a good complexity and a pleasant final that recalls cherry.
