SCHIOPETTO
Pursuing the objective of giving voice to the territory through wine, Mario Schiopetto founded his winery back in 1965, the year in which he rented the vineyards at the time belonging to the archbishop’s curia. It all began in Capriva, a small town in the Collio area of Friuli, where the Schiopetto winery - owned by the Rotolo family since 2014 - still faithfully carries on the mission launched by its founder. Aware of the value of those vineyards, Mario Schiopetto decided to transform those old and uncultivated lands into rows treated in detail, working hard to make his vineyards unique and to exploit the potential of those soils made of Ponca, typical Friulian marl composed of limestone and clay. Every action of Mario was dictated by the desire to make the territory speak, telling the story sipped after sip. In the years that followed, the sons of Mario, Maria Angela, Carlo and Giorgio, have joined their father in the management of the company, carrying forward the values and vision, with sensitivity and respect, as well as with the inevitable love and passion that lies at the base of everything. Working with constancy and dedication, in full respect of nature and the environment, today excellent grapes are cultivated and harvested, capable of giving elegant and high quality wines. From Friulano to Pinot Blanc, from Malvasia to Sauvignon, through Pinot Grigio and Ribolla up to various blends, the ones labeled Schiopetto are wines born from the conviction according to which everything revolves around the earth and the vine. The latter, if they know how to understand and value in the right way by the hand of man, come to offer fruits that will be children of love, tradition and authentic passion, which in the cellar will be transformed into wines that will be able to tell to the glass that history and that territory of which the same Schiopetto winery, since its origins, it has been a spokesperson.
